Enable RLV and voice

What is RLV?
The RestrainedLove API lets VIA control your viewer: teleport you, change your outfit or move the camera. It's built into Firestorm, Catznip, Black Dragon and most modern viewers. It's safe: only YOU enable it, and only YOU decide which scripts can use it.
Enable RLV (3 steps)
- Open Preferences (Ctrl+P in Firestorm) → Advanced.
- Check the «Allow RLV» or «RestrainedLove API» checkbox ✓.
- Restart the viewer. Once back, VIA detects it automatically.
How does voice work?
VIA opens a page in your browser ONLY to enable live mode and grant microphone permission. You don't talk from there: once enabled, you go back to the HUD and talk to VIA inside Second Life itself.
Enable voice (3 steps)
- Tap the voice button on the HUD: a page opens in your browser.
- On that page, enable live mode and allow the microphone (that's all it's for).
- Go back to the HUD and tap the mic or the waves to talk to VIA, inside Second Life.
Both are optional: without RLV you can still chat and receive messages; without a mic, you keep typing to VIA as usual.

Frequently asked questions
Is it really free?
The HUD is a one-time purchase. The AI (Google Gemini) connects with your own free account: 1,500 queries a day at no cost, and up to 4,500 a day if you connect all 3 accounts. No card and no expiration.
Do I need to be tech-savvy?
No. A wizard guides you step by step to connect Gemini and enable RLV. After that you just talk to VIA in natural language, like with any person.
What is RLV and why do I need it?
It's the API that lets VIA move your avatar, change your outfits and control the camera. You enable it with a checkbox in your viewer. Without RLV, VIA only chats and receives messages.
Is my data safe?
Yes. Your API key is encrypted with Fernet before being saved, chats are ephemeral and the memory is yours alone: you see it, edit it and delete it whenever you want.
Does it work in my viewer?
It works in Firestorm, Catznip, Black Dragon and most modern viewers with RLV support.
